Windowmizer for macox12/31/2022 ![]()
Life is to be lived, not controlled and humanity is won by continuing to play in the face of certain defeat. A post at RGB World tells the story: History of WindowShade. Chris figured that out, not me.īefore there was WindowMizer, before there was WindowShade X, and before there was OS X, there was WindowShade, built into the Mac operating system. #WINDOWMIZER FOR MACOX INSTALL#My problem: I was trying to install an old version of the app, not the more recent version for which I have a license. E-mail him with a question or problem, as I did yesterday, and he’ll give you a friendly, helpful response. And the app’s developer, Chris Kassa, stands by his work. Given the app’s usefulness, the price is a bargain. ![]() WindowMizer is not free and not exactly cheap: a $14.99 license allows installation on two machines. WindowMizer has many options, among which is an option to hide its Dock icon (seen to the left) - that’s handy with an app that is always on. But the app has a worthy successor: RGB World’s WindowMizer (for OS X 10.6 and higher). I began using this app not long after switching to a Mac in 2007.Īs OS X evolved, WindowShade X stopped working. That’s tremendously useful to anyone working on a small screen. Looking forward to trying windowmizer. Some years ago, the app WindowShade X made it possible to roll up a Mac window, so to speak, leaving nothing but a title bar. My computer has run so much more reliably since I got rid of it. #WINDOWMIZER FOR MACOX UPGRADE#If you forget to turn off the APE module before a system upgrade it screws you up, and you'll be in so many endless loops that your battery consumption will go way down due to all the hard work the processor is doing. ![]() Since there are too many annoying features in ML I am sticking to OS10.6 for the foreseeable future.Įven so, and despite my love of Windowshade, I have stopped using the unsanity haxie. 10 to list here but Windomizer seems to be a major step in the right direction. Apple has been dropping the ball for a while now on the user interface and I think it may have all started when WindowShade was abandoned. First it renders better on the Retina display and Second it brings back sound to the interaction. I do like WindowMizer better though for a couple of reasons. I have been using Deskovery for a while now. These actions can be set on per-application basis so you can configure your workspace to be convenient for you - get more accomplished, and make it happen quicker!

Idle monster td best layout challenge map12/31/2022 ![]() ![]() Of course, he didn’t want to do everything for me as he wanted me to learn, so he showed me the ropes and it got me started. Working with my friend, he helped me to implement Cloud Saving. With the game growing though, this was no longer an option, but a mandatory feature. So I decided not to do cloud save before releasing the game since I did not anticipate problems with saving. (I try not to mess with things I don’t understand because it usually leads to havoc). Here’s a flow chart I drew to try and understand how it works.ĭespite my valiant efforts, I was not able to understand it completely and therefore unable to implement it. I had previously looked into Playfab, which offers a cloud saving service. I had to have an alternate way to save the game data. It’s a small percentage, but it quickly sent me into a panic mode. I had to find out why this was happening!įor those that aren’t aware, my game is published on WebGL. It turns out that unlike the WebPlayer, which is able to write to a hard file to your computer, WebGL on the other hand is using IndexedDB to save the game’s data on your registry, and some people were losing their savefiles because indexedDB is not compatible with some browsers / computers. And this was what filled the comments section and was an issue I had to address. It’s actually a small percentage of people, but because there are many people playing the game, a small percentage, say even 3% of 10,000 people, is still 300 people. ![]() In the first half of this post I’m going to talk about the technical stuff (things going on behind the scenes) first and the other half will be about the game (the fun stuff!).Īfter publishing my game, there was an issue I met with immediately. Some people were losing their save files. This post is pretty long so I have divided it into two parts. It has been 3 weeks since I first published my game on Kongregate and the first two weeks were really exciting and crazy. ![]() Philips hue white ambiance a1912/31/2022 ![]() ![]() Related Reading: Can Philips Hue Control Other Bulbs (Smart and Normal Lights)? The Main Difference Between Philips Hue’s White and White Ambiance Bulbs However Hue’s color bulbs cost 4-5x the price of white bulbs and 2-3x the price of ‘white ambiance’ bulbs, so many budget-conscious people ask what the difference is between the cheaper white and white ambiance alternatives… The final bulb type means that the bulb can produce 16 million different colors: from blue to bright orange, and pink to green! This is because these bulbs contain color diodes (RGB – one red, one green, and one blue) along with a white diode to produce good quality white color too (genuine white is hard to produce with just RGB diodes). Philips Hue’s bulbs fall into three main categories: ![]() They are one of the only smart lighting companies to offer syncing with music and TV, meaning that your bulbs can ‘dance’ in time with what’s playing. However Hue earn their status as a premium-end product by having a large product line-up with lots of smart bulbs and all-in-one light fixings, along with a good amount of integration. Hue are one of the premium-end of the market, meaning that their products are more expensive than many smart light producers (apart from LIFX who are similarly priced, or sometimes more expensive). Philips Hue are a range of smart lights, originally produced by Philips but now owned by Signify (who still use the “Philips Hue” brand name, even though Signify and Philips are different companies). This is also what makes the Hue app such a great addition to the physical hardware system. How I got started with smart lighting: a starter kit and four E14 candle bulbs. As far as controlling the lights from your smartphone is considered, the lights also support Google Assistant and users can control the Hue bridge just by saying keywords like “Turn up the lights” or “Turn off lights in Bedroom 1” and the Assistant will take care of everything else. In the evening we then had the lights turn back on when we arrived back at the house.Īdditionally, the Philips lighting system is also compatible with Apple HomeKit, Google Home and Amazon Alexa. From here you’ll be able to set the lights to automatically turn on and off when you arrive at, and subsequently leave the house, as well as allowing you to have the lights turn on and off automatically at different times.īy way of an example, we had the lights turn on to help us wake up in the morning, before automatically turning off when we left the house for work. Of much great importance is the routines section of the app. ‘Energise’ was perfect for the mornings when the harsh white light worked well to blow away the cobwebs, while ‘Relax’ worked better in the evenings where we wanted our brains to wind down. We found ourselves relying mostly on the activity-specific defaults. The easiest way to do this is with Philips’ pre-configured scenes, which range from ‘Energize’ (a cool white light) through to ‘Relax’ (a richer yellow hue). The real fun starts when you tap the room’s icon on the left of the screen, which allows you to customize the exact bulb color. You can tap on the switch to the right of the screen to turn them on to their last setting, but if you’re using the default settings you’re nowhere near using the Philips Hue bulbs to their potential. The default home screen shows you your available rooms, allowing you to control all their bulbs as a group. It's a breeze to start using the system and control the lights through the app. With your bulbs assigned to rooms, the setup process is complete and you can now play around with the colors (shades of white, in this case). When your bulbs are discovered you’ll need to assign them to rooms, which allows you to control groups of them much more easily. Once the app is set up, it will ask you to connect to the Hue Bridge by holding down the big button on the Bridge. When we were setting our bulbs, the bridge discovered the bulbs quickly and easily. #Philips hue white ambiance a19 android#Meanwhile, download the Hue app available both for iOS and Android smartphones. ![]() AuthorWrite something about yourself.
